Recommended Print Settings

Disclaimer: These settings were produced on Bambu Lab Printers, sliced on OrcaSlicer. This should provide you a general guideline on the target temperature. Should you be using other printers, we will provide a rough guideline on how to achieve the targetted temperature.

Note: Target temperature refers to a temperature where the Alt Tab team felt the flow of filament remains consistent and fluid to prevent any artefacts. Different Heater Catridges and Heat Breaks provide different levels of heat transfer, thus resulting in varying results. We are unable to guarantee that you will have the exact same experience as us. Thank you for your kind understanding.

(ALT TAB) PLA - Basic Series

ALT TAB PLA Settings: (Based on our print farm)

  • Target Printing Temperature: 190°C. (We set at 193°C)
  • Target Bed Temperature: 55°C. (We set at 58°C)
  • Set Max Volumetric Flow: 12mm(cubed)/s
  • Target Print Speeds: 150mm/s.

Our Test Results:

  • With 210°C - 215°C, we are able to print at constant 22mm(cubed)/s or print speeds of 261mm/s. Again, it really depends on the complexity of your model, do use this setting with caution.
  • Max Volumetric Flow: 28mm (cubed)/s or print speeds of beyond 300mm/s - But as this will be pushing the filament to the limit, we highly recommend never going towards this number.

Box Label PLA Settings:

  • Printing Temperature: 190°C to 220°C.
  • Bed Temperature: 20°C - 60°C
  • Printing Speed: Up to 300mm/s

Notes:

  • Open Enclosure Doors. If you have an enclosure, please open the doors. If you have an auxiliary fan, please use it. PLA does not like hot environments.

(ALT TAB) PLA - Matte Hex Series

ALT TAB PLA Matte Hex Settings: (Based on our print farm)

  • Target Printing Temperature: 190°C. (We set at 193°C)
  • Target Bed Temperature: 55°C. (We set at 58°C)
  • Set Max Volumetric Flow: 10mm(cubed)/s
  • Target Print Speeds: 125mm/s.

Our Test Results:

  • With 210°C - 215°C, we are able to print at constant 22mm(cubed)/s or print speeds of 261mm/s. Again, it really depends on the complexity of your model, do use this setting with caution.

(ALT TAB) PLA - Carbon Fibre (To Be Updated)

(ALT TAB) PETG - Basic Series

ALT TAB PETG Settings: (Based on our print farm)

  • Target Printing Temperature: 225°C. (We set at 227°C)
  • Target Bed Temperature: 80°C. (We set at 80°C)
  • Set Max Volumetric Flow: 12mm(cubed)/s
  • Target Print Speeds: 140mm/s.

Our Test Results:

  • At 260°C, you are able to push the volumetric speed to upwards of 30mm(cubed)/s, allowing a print speed of up to 375mm/s.
  • Max Volumetric Flow: 32mm (cubed)/s - But as this will be pushing the filament to the limit, we highly recommend never going towards this number.

Box Label PETG Settings:

  • Printing Temperature: 210°C to 240°C.
  • Bed Temperature: 50°C - 70°C
  • Printing Speed: Up to 300mm/s

Notes:

  • When not using in enclosed environment, do prevent cold breeze or gusts of wind around the print, just to ensure proper adhesion.

(ALT TAB) PETG - Hex Series

ALT TAB PETG Hex Settings: (Based on our print farm)

  • Target Printing Temperature: 245°C. (We set at 247°C)
  • Target Bed Temperature: 80°C. (We set at 80°C)
  • Set Max Volumetric Flow: 9mm(cubed)/s
  • Target Print Speeds: 110mm/s.

Our Test Results:

  • While we know that our PETG is able to push beyond the limits of upwards of 30mm(cubed)/s, to achieve close to perfect and consistent results, we slowed everything down to ensure success in all prints.
