PETG Filament is a tough material ideal for mechanical prints, enclosures, and functional parts compared to PLA. However, PETG is more prone to warping and not recommended for beginners. Environmental stability is key—sudden temperature changes or airflow can affect results.

Filaments are inspected before shipping to ensure quality control. Should you have any questions, you can come back to us!

⚠️ Storage & Drying (Important for Best Results) ⚠️

PETG is hygroscopic – it absorbs moisture from the air quickly, especially in Singapore's climate. Wet PETG can cause stringing, oozing, bubbles, poor layer bonding, or brittle prints.

Storage Tips:

  • Store filament in a dry box, vacuum-sealed bag, or airtight container with silica gel
  • Aim for humidity below 40%
  • Always reseal rolls after use

Drying Recommendation:

  • Dry at 65°C for 1 hour using a dryer with stable temperature control.

⚠️ Caution: Overheating during drying can make the filament brittle or fuse the spool. ALT TAB is not responsible for damage caused by improper handling. ⚠️

⚠️ Disclaimer ⚠️

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Will the spool get tangled?
❌ No – all spools are machine-wound in clean, layered rows.
⚠️ Tangling only happens if the filament end is left loose.
✔️ Always secure the end through the spool holes after use.
  2. Is PETG beginner-friendly?
⚠️ No – PETG is not suitable for beginners.
We recommend starting with PLA first. PETG needs fine-tuned slicer settings, a dry environment, and a stable print setup.
  3. What makes PETG different from PLA?
✔️ PETG is stronger and more heat-resistant.
⚠️ However, it is more susceptible to warping and requires good bed adhesion and minimal environmental fluctuation.
  4. Do I need to dry PETG if it’s still sealed?
✔️ Yes – even sealed PETG should be dried before use.
Moisture can be absorbed during handling or transport in Singapore’s humidity.
  5. Why is my PETG stringing?
PETG may string due to moisture, high temps, or poor retraction.
📲 Start with the QR-based recommended settings.
Every printer and environment is different—testing and tuning are necessary.
  6. Is it compatible with my printer?
✔️ Yes – as long as your printer supports 1.75mm filament.
Works with Creality, Prusa, Anycubic, Elegoo, and Bambu Lab AMS / AMS Lite.
  7. Do I need an enclosure?
🟡 Recommended – An enclosure helps reduce warping caused by sudden temperature changes or wind.
✅ If printing in open air, ensure no direct airflow and stable temperatures.
  8. How should I store PETG after opening?
Store in a dry box, airtight container, or vacuum-sealed bag with desiccant to prevent moisture issues.
  9. Do you collect back the empty spools?
No, we currently do not collect empty spools. However, our spools are made from recyclable plastic and can be disposed of responsibly via the blue recycling bins available across Singapore. ♻️
